Happy Holidays!

Wowzers! Everyone just needs to calm down kay?

Here I am, ready to fill ya in on the last few months!

I apologize for the delay, because I don't have a smartphone to take pictures and send them to myself, the process of taking pictures (carrying around a chunky digital camera, hooking it up to the computer ((slower than the dickens)) downloading all the pictures then uploading them onto the internet) takes a lot longer than it should. Soooo I don't take very many, which amounted to me not wanting blog for each holiday because they would only consist of a few pictures each.
ANYWAY, here I am, combining all the holidays into one glorious post.

Here we go.

Halloween was fun! After work we had our friends over, Joe and Erin. There aren't any pictures of them because i'm just going to go ahead and assume Joe doesn't want to be pictured on the internet, probably thinks the government will be watching him or something......

I had been trying to convince Jon we should dress up as each other, because that would've been hilarious... but he wouldn't go for it, so... I just dressed up and it turned into twins!

It's a bummer Jon shaved. would've been perfect.

I think it turned out pretty good.

After about 5 solid minutes of laughter from Joe and Erin I changed and we got to pumpkin carving.

Jon was embarassed of his. Apparently it was supposed to be a vampire..
I was thinking more like an angry asain.

On to Thanksgiving!

We first went to the LaRue grandparent side and ate a lot of food, that was followed by us going to my parents house and, get this, eating more food.
It was a successful Thanksgiving
Turns out I am thankful for a lot of things.

Then Jon got sick, but Lucy spooned with him and then he felt all better.

There may have been some medicine involved too.

Now it's time for a brief intermission to update you on the LaRue farm.

The cows

We sold Jack and Daisy, So it's just Big Rhonda, and Rosie
(Rosie is the neighbors little heifer that we keep at our house)
They're getting really friendly.

Now that they can't graze, we have to feed them hay.

Sometimes they even look for it in other places.

The Dogs
Lucy is wonderful of course. She enjoyed celebrating the holidays

sometimes she poses for pictures.

Jasper is doing great. He's getting old. But not too old for Lucy.....
SHE'S PREGNANT! woo hoo!!!
Who wants a puppy??
I wanted to wait to post till after they were born but she's just taking too long.
she's huge.

The Duck

Story time.
On the 23rd we were driving home from my parents and we saw something in the road.
It was two ducks!
They had been hit by a car :( one of them was dead but one was still alive!!
 He was pretty jacked up.
We asked the people who lived nearby if they knew who's ducks they were (they were domestic ducks)
no one knew.
Anyway we put him in the truck and took him home.

I named him Dennis.

We think his leg might've been broken because we also put him in the tub and it was stickin out all weird while he swam. So we let him stay in the Hotel LaRue for the night
and provided complimentary dinner and breakfast.

The next morning my brother came over while Jon was at work and we went to go feed Maurice down at the pond (we just invested in a 50 lb bag of duck feed so I didn't have to bring home rolls from work anymore to feed him)
Anyway we get down there and we can't find him...
after a couple minutes Johnny found him.
Long story short, Maurice found a nest of minnows (11 to be exact) and a rock fell and pinned his head in between another rock and he drowned.
Who ever heard of a duck drowning?!
Anyway, we know about the fish cuz there were 11 in his mouth... Johnny pulled them out, not me.

So that was tragic.

Good thing we found Dennis though otherwise we'd have a whole lot of duck feed.

Speaking of Dennis, on Christmas morning we brought him down to the pond and he loved it!
He was swimming around and seemed very happy.

Intermission is over.

We went to temple Square (of course) with Joe and Erin, got the classic Temple Square pictures-

Here's a gem
And also got a "we're so happy to be in America!" picture, from the family history center.

Christmas this year was a different experience. My parents were in AZ visiting my grandparents and sister, so we had the rest of the kids, Johnny, Andrew, and Hannah just come to our house.

We opened our presents-
I got a sewing machine!!
...and coveralls.

 I know, I know, It's a good look.

After that we all went to Grandma LaRue's for breakfast.

The boys had a trapshoot

And then we took naps

So all in all it was a happy happy holiday season!!

Back to Dennis. Boy is he a good duck. Apparently he got lonely, because yesterday when I went to feed the cows I heard some quacking and surprise! He had made his way all the way up from the pond. (an acre) just to come hang out!

So.. we just let him stay up there and he hasn't moved since!

Anyway... It's time for you know what!

Quotes from Jon!

"Well EXCUSEEEE me for matching too good!"

"I'm not trying to sound to cocky or anything, but i'm pretty sure i'm better than you at everything"
(Just so you know, that one was to his little brother, not me. haha)

"You can't just smack down a pimp like dat"
yes, he said "dat"

"I learned that one back in 'Nam"

"Fine! just shoot down all the spiritual stuff you satan lover!"

(While listening to a Taylor Swift song on the radio)
Me: hey Jon, I'll give you $10 if you can tell me who sings this song.
Jon: Idk, Justin Bieber.
Me: hahahhaha no! oh my gosh it's Taylor Swift! how do you not know that?
Jon: How am I supposed to know that?! she sounds like every other girl voice except Adele and Ludacris!

^possibly my favorite.

And there you have it! Tune in next time for PUPPY PICTURES

In the mean time, here are some cute dog pictures.
Byee!

Filling the void and whole bunch of firsts!

As many of you know (or all, if you read the last post) my sweet baby Rusty has left us and I was left with a void in my heart. Not knowing how to fill it, I walked around my house repeatedly telling Jon I "need something to love" He would just give me the "Hellooo I'm right here, love me" look. But I kept explaining it was a different love. Like a motherly, nurturing love. So.... one Wednesday afternoon on my way to work... a sort of round about way to work.. I just happened upon the local animal shelter.
I decided to go take a look-see.. you know.. just to look.

Well if anyone knows me, they knew I couldn't leave empty handed after looking into the faces of animals who desperately needed love... considering I coincidentally had a fair amount of love I needed to give.

One pair of eyes particularly sold themselves to me.
It was like walking into a grocery store and seeing your favorite candy bar on sale, you don't just walk passed that.

Unfortunately when you're married, it's considered "appropriate" to make decisions such as bringing home an animal, only after you have discussed it, and agreed upon it with your spouse. So obviously I called Jon, disregarding the fact that he was working, I needed this precious pup in my life! like, now!

Well turns out I kind of get really excited about things and get super into it, and then lose interest after about a day... Jon is fully aware of that so he convinced me to sleep on it.

So I did.
I brought Jon on Saturday and we brought her home that morning!

I named her Lucy because she is such a sweetheart. Also this way I can say "Lucy I'm home!" whenever I get back from work. That was a good enough reason in itself, but it also fits her personality.

She is by far the best snuggle buddy ever. Except Jon doesn't like her in the house.. so we just save that for when he's gone :) shhh!

One thing that just melts my heart about Lucy is she reminds me of my baby Rusty.
Look familiar?

Jasper isn't too fond of her, but we decided he's not really too fond of any dogs...except the neighbors.. when she comes into heat. ;) ow ow

(I opened the back door to clean out the car and they jumped in, after about 5 min of trying to get them out, I just let them stay there.. they did for about 20 minutes until they realized we really weren't going anywhere.)

ANYWAYYY
The next day was General Conference. We went to my parents house to watch it. It was wonderful as always, but wore some of us out.

Photo: Conference wore some of us out.
Oh yeah, and I adopted a dog! :)

Another thing that wore us out was the deer hunt! It was my first!

I wasn't overjoyed about going considering this was the temperature the first morning..

also it was like 4:30am ...
but it ended up being pretty great! Plus I had lots of firsts!
My first Moose sighting! They came way close to camp! (my zoom might've helped a little bit.)
My first sunrise that I actually watched... possibly that i've been awake for

Like usual, I won most of the games.

The moon was ginormous (zoom might've helped out a little bit here too...)

Lucy enjoyed it

Except for the being tied up part, turns out she doesn't really like that...

Plus I just got some good pictures.

This is an action shot of me roundhouse kicking the smoke.

Classic model shots...

woah.. don't know how that got there...

Welp!
Quotes from Jon

After a nudge from me while nodding off in sacrament meeting...
"I'm sorry! It's just so hard for me to listen to women's talks."

Jon: Hey look! I found some more Halloween decoration!
Me: That's just a bandana...
Jon: Yeah, but it's orange!

That's all folks! Thanks for readin!
