Game time!

Add another job to the list!
So i'm a substitute teacher, which is nice because I can choose whether or not I want to work.
I also work at a Bakery, making sandwiches like a good woman should.
And I recently got hired as an assistant/receptionist at an insurance company! Which is like my dream job! I know that sounds lame, but i've seriously always wanted to be a receptionist. It's a great job, just lots to learn considering I know very little about insurance.
And by very little I mean absolutely nothing.

Anywho.
Thursdays are good days because it's both mine and Jon's day off.
So we went to ward temple night, then to the church for Thursday night basketball.
Which usually has a descent turn out.
Aside from our sunday school class we teach, Jon is also the ward basketball coach. haha his dream calling.
Let's just say he magnifies one calling a little better than the other.

Just kidding, he does great.
Our ward is just kind of older so sometimes it's hard to get the guys to come.
So it ended up being me and him playing Horse.
I lost.
When we got home we wanted to do something fun but didnt want to spend any money.  And I am not really a game person. Never really have been. I like banagrams and scum though. but we've played those a lot, and they're not that great with just two people... so we took a gander in the game closet and i decided we could try another game.
Liar's Dice.
Needless to say we should probably go to Vegas because I am a ridiculous dice roller. Jon and I ended up playing for over an hour.Which is definitely a record.
I dominated.

Speaking of games, Rusty loves games. such as bite Jasper's mouth while he's trying to sleep

And sit on Jasper's head while he's trying to sleep.

He's finally acting like less of a psychopath so sometimes I let him in the house.
He's really helpful. He'll find all the socks in the house and put them in a pile.
He also helps us take down the Christmas lights

Good thing we bought those with a gift card.

Anyway i've been enjoying decorating our cute little house.
This is me trying to be cute and creative.

Decorating has fallen under the woman's responsibilities in our home.
Which i'm more than okay with. Because when you give the man the opportunity to decorate, this happens

                                                                 Yup. Good times.

Welp, that's all. So now it's time for...

Quotes From Jon:   "Kiss me Lauren... kiss me like we both just brushed our teeth!"
"I used to deliver kangaroo food."
And the winner is..."That's why people get married. So they don't have to sleep in their clothes."

Life is wonderful! Have a great week!

Happy Valentines Day!

Well! What an eventful week!
Valentines Day was wonderful! I came home from work to a clean house, some pretty flowers, and a deliciousssss bbq chicken pizza Jon so lovingly made.

It was seriously so good. I want another one right now.

Later than night we went to Crystal Hot Springs which was fun because I had never gone before! I wanted to take a picture but it was super dark there.. and it wouldn't have worked. But it was very relaxing and fun, although just a tip- don't get that water in your mouth. It's not tasty.
And we ended the night with a movie. It was a perfect day!
And the good news is, Rusty loves Valentine's Day!

The bad news is, Rusty actually doesn't love Valentine's Day.
I came to that conclusion after the fact that it was close to impossible to get this picture because he kept trying to get out of the heart. But it kills me, I laugh every time I see this.. poor thing.

Another good news is that Rusty likes driving in the car.

The bad news is that we almost didn't have a car after it decided to snow a million inches and pile up on our car port to the point where it was caving in. But the good news is, strong man Jon when and shoveled it off.

He is nice, I like him.

Anyway, I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but we don't get very good TV reception with our antenna so it's a constant battle of adjusting it so we can get a couple channels in- but good news everybody! I finally found the perfect position that gets in all of our channels-

I'm not even kidding. I of course discovered this by accidentally knocking it down on to the floor, and to my surprise a channel which was not coming in, came on crystal clear! I flipped through the other channels, and WA-LA!
Although I don't really care too much to get all the channels, I only watch Jeopardy.

Anyway, that's about all. Oh yeah, to add something to the list of conversions- Bottle caps. Who knew.
Have I already mentioned that? If I have then here's another- Lime Rickys. Yum

And now it's time for...
Quotes from Jon: (The other night during scripture study, I handed Jon the Book of Mormon and said you might want to turn it right side up, to which I very sternly got the response, "I can read upside if I want! I'm a grown man!"
and he continued to read the entire chapter upside down.
It was actually quite impressive.

Bye!

Substitute Teaching

Well things have finally decided to be eventful. I am no longer unemployed! wahoo! and i'm also in the system to be a substitute teacher. So now I don't have to sit at home and watch jeopardy anymore... even though I've grown to love it.
I've already subbed twice now, and the second time around it was for a 2nd grade class. During reading time I flipped through one of the poetry books the students were learning out of and came across this-

Seriously?

I'll be honest, subbing isn't my favorite thing. Not because of the pay, or because it's hard or anything, I have no problem telling kids to stop talking, (or stop crying in some cases.)
I just don't really like kids.
haha just kidding.
But seriously.

I'll love my own, that's all that matters.

Anyway one of the highlights of this week was when the achievement day girls stopped by and brought us cookies and notes telling us why they loved our ward. It was sweet of them. No pun intended.

Another highlight was our plumbing decided to hate us again.

Plumber Jon (crack not included) tried to fix it, but the clog was beyond our snake's reach.
(Idk why the bottom of our toilet is blue. It was like that when we moved here.)

Other than that not much has gone on this week. We're still living the dream, and Rusty's still being naughty.

Before I go though I decided to spice this blog up a little. I thought i'd share with everyone one of the joys of being married to Jon. The delightful things he says that always manage to bring a smile to my face!.
So here's a new section I'd like to call Quotes from Jon.

Today's Quote: "You are so attractive right now! You should wear makeup more often."
and to make up for not having one last week: "I don't think you're supposed to inhale bleach."

Sorry ladies, he's taken.

Well, that's all folks! Have a good one!

Dr. Scholls

When you find yourself at Walmart and don't have much to buy sometimes you end up on the Dr. Scholls scale finding out what kind of shoe inserts you should be using.

I could probably use some arch support.

Jon, on the other hand... might just want a new foot.

You can't tell from the picture, but I was dying of laughter.
We all have quirks... haha

Disclaimer: We're fully aware there is something wrong with his foot, this picture wasn't news to us. No need for any concern.

But anyway Jon and I had a pretty fun week! Thursday we went bowling.. which is one of our favorite things to do. Both of us are pretty competitive, so when when the first two games ended like this-

I knew something had to be done.

So of course I won the 3rd game, and was ready to leave on that note.
But according to Jon Dear, we weren't done because he had to "Put me in my place."

Needless to say, I'm good under pressure.

See those 2 strikes at the end? Those bad boys gave Jon the service opportunity of making dinner and doing the dishes.
He's a sweetheart.
