Mommy mode has totally suited me well. and i somehow still have energy, life is good!
SO lets break down the first month of her life-
Week 1.
Like i said, we came home from the hospital on thursday evening and by saturday night she was sleeping like 4 hours through the night, she's seriously such a champ. I felt like the mommy mantle just totally fell upon me haha normally if I don't get like, i SOLID 8-9 hours, i'm totallly messed up for the next day, or if i go to bed too late, or have to wake up early, or if I had to get up in the middle in the night even for just a quick potty break(pre pregnancy) it'd totally mess me up. like i used to be so sensitive to any sleep disturbances, but now it's no big deal. Even when I wake up in the middle of the night to her sweet little "i'm hungry" coos, i don't even have the "i'm sooo exhausted, just 5 more minutes" feelings, I just get get right up and take care of her, sure, i do get a little sleepy in the rocking chair, but i'm able to stay awake to feed her, then fall right back asleep once i get back in bed. Plus she's just soooooo cute i don't like going too long without looking at her haha so that helps me keep my eyes open.
Recovery from the Csection has honestly been a breeze. I think my broken arm surgery experience really helped prep me for this. Like i mentioned before, a lot of my issues and concerns come from the unknown, but because i've had to go through, and recover from surgery before I sort of had a little heads up. So i haven't been stressed at all about the recovery process and it's been going really well. I'm really good about taking my pain pills on schedule and don't try to over do it, or try to cut them off early to be tough. When i had surgery on my arm I was the same way and felt like I had a great recovery, although i feel like i'm healing way faster after this surgery than my arm.
On her 1 week birthday i was able to go up and down the stairs with ease, bend over, be up and around and doing things with no pain or issues during or afterwards. I seriously can't believe how well it's gone. People always say that a c section recovery is much worse than a vaginal delivery recovery, but i don't know if I would agree, I think i'd rather have a sore belly, than have stitches all up in my lady bits and cry every time i have to go to the bathroom. But who knows! I'll only ever have c sections so i'll never have anything to compare it to.
The relief society in this ward has been fantastic as well! My parents left Monday afternoon and the RS brought dinner Monday, tuesday, and wednesday night. I also had a couple neighbors bring dinner as well. People are so nice!!!
Since I dont have social media anymore to bombard everyone with baby pics, i'll just dump a bunch here :)

Week 2
I don't know if you guys have gathered this yet, but Lydia is the perfect baby. We love her so much!
The whole eat sleep poop life is for real, but it's great. It took a little over a week for my milk to come in so we breastfed and bottle fed and she has done great! no issues with either. She sleeps for long enough stretches i'm actually able to get stuff done around the house. There was one day i was like, people always say "sleep when the baby sleeps", so i basically did that all day, taking short naps and it totally screwed me up, for one, it was WAY too much sleep, since i was still getting plenty at night, and 2 I couldnt get anything done during the day, because when i was awake i was feeding her, and totally exhausted from my naps haha so I'm just sticking with sleeping during the night when she sleeps, and then staying up during the day, there have been a couple times i needed a quick cat nap during the day but over all It has been great.
She is beginning to be much more coherent now when she is awake, very alert, big eyes and interactive. It's adorable. And she sleeps like a rock which is nice, because i can still vacuum and take care of barking dogs and she stays asleep.
We def hit the jackpot!
I gave her a sponge bath on monday and she screamed bloody murder the whole time... so she's not a fan of those haha but we'll use a baby bath next time and see how that goes.
She loves her dad snuggles

Welcome to the gun show!
Well week 3 was when it finally hit me. Turns out sometimes motherhood is hard haha who knew! It really wasn't THAT bad, we just had a lotttt of visitors during week three and that definitely disrupted out perfect little bubble and schedule. Lydia didn't sleep as well some of the days, and I had a bout of anxiety, but Monday came and we got back on track! Love this little babe.
My rough day, a tired mama and a wired baby.
On saturday my parents and sister came up and sunday Andrew and hannah came with the kids, James did such a good job holding Lydia. It will be so fun to have cousins so close!
On the day when I was too tired to function, Jon swooped in a was super dad and dressed lydia without any crying!
It was so fun to have Chalyce and Kennie come visit with their boys! great to see some friends from high school and talk about how we are all grown up now haha
I was in dire need of some sunshine so Lydia and I walked along the porch for about 5 min one day. haha it was great
On valentines day we ventured out for our first date since she was born, SInce we can't really take her out anywhere yet, we just went into town and went through the drive through at Big J's and then came home and watched a movie, it was SO fun and much needed! Love my Jon.
If you can't tell we were both feeling much better this day :) Love her cute little smiles
They didn't last very long
Week 4. Holy cow I basically have a one month old! But in all actuality, time has not flown by haha so i'm not in shock that it's already been a month but it has been so great! It has been nice to have US time again. Just me and my girl, Jon has been so helpful whenever i've needed him. I am so grateful for our special little family! Lydia is back on a better schedule now that we havent had as many interruptions. I had to veto visitors this last week due to a couple anxiety melt downs... but Our month of February has been wonderful overall to be here at home together, but I am excited for March when I can start taking her out! As of this week she has officially grown out of her NB clothes. I only have 1 more package of NB diapers so i'm going to use those up then she'll be ready for size 1! growing so fast!
A few more pics for your enjoyment!
How did I make such a chub?
Not thrilled about waking up
Loves her morning play time
Her first blow out
dominating tummy time
Just some basic modeling poses
Not ashamed of her body, and not interested in your problems.
Quotes from Jon:
"If people knew you better, they wouldn't respect you as much" This one is SO funny out of context because of how horrible it sounds hahahha so i'm not even going to explain it to keep it's greatness.
"it's been a while since i've snuggled 2 girls at once"
"oh my vertebral subluxation!"
"A tomato without a sandwich is a sandwichless tomato."
