Well, it's been a minute. Guys i'm terrible at this! Turns out working on a ranch and being a mom keeps you pretty busy. But it's the best and I have zero complaints! Have I mentioned how much we love Lydia? Ugh she's just the best! People are always like, "enjoy this time now, they grow up so fast!" And I mean, it's true, she is growing fast, but at the same time it doesn't seem like time is flying by, I don't mean that negatively, it just seems like Lydia has always been part of our lives! So while yes, she is growing fast, I honestly don't even remember what it was like when she was a newborn haha I can't say, "it seems like just yesterday I was delivering her in the hospital!" Because it doesn't hah it honestly seems like we've always had her, And I love it!
I wish i would've done a better job blogging the last few months so i'd have a journal of her growing up more in these fun first months, but at least i have a bajillion pics on my phone to look back at. Anyway, even though i wont have anything written down, i'll add a bunch of pics here to fill in from my last post in march, to current-
Shout out to my friend Alyssa, who i was friends with in jr. high and freshman year of HS when i was living in Illinois, we've stayed friends and she was sweet enough to send me a baby shower gift. She's a HP fan if you couldn't tell.
Celebrating Fathers day by rocking mustaches.
Playing with her cousin who is only 6 days olderWe finally went down to the pond to do some fishing. Basically you catch something on every cast. It's pretty great.
I had surgery to remove an umbilical hernia that I got while I was pregnant. So Jon and Lydia came to hang out with me.
We participated in the parade this year, which was so fun! We walked a cow in the parade!
Lydia had her 6 month check up and she's just healthy and happy as can be! At her appointment she weighed in at 18lbs, 25 inches long (i think) She scrreeeeeaammeddd bloody murder when she got her shots and was very hard to console. The only thing to get her to stop crying was to read her a book. I love that she loves books. She sits still the entire time, and will try to hold the edge of the book, or flip the pages. I love reading to her because of how enthralled she gets! Plus, my mom collects childrens books, so it's always fun going to her house and watching her read to Lydia.

Anywho. It had been a few weeks since i'd visited my neighbors down the hill (my adopted grandparents) So i sent a text over to see if i could come say hi and he told me to bring the family and he'd take some pictures! So away we went! Once again, Lydia, who is full of smiles and giggles all morning, fell asleep right before we left, and when she woke up once we got there, she was still in dream land the whole time- completely straight faced and wide eyed. No tears, but also no smiles. haha oh well. maybe next time.

KIDDING. Never. haha Anyway, apparently there is a baby contest at the fair, and I didn't know anything about it, but my friend told me she was entering her baby so i asked about it and thought what the heck, that'd be fun. So we entered her, and she won!! Basically all it was was a bunch of babies (I think there were 22 in her age group) and there were different categories you entered your baby in:
-Best smile
-most hair
-brightest blue eyes
-brightest brown eyes
-chubbiest
So naturally we entered her in the best smile, blue eyes, and chubbiest. So one baby won in each category and then they had an overall winner (cutest/best personality) in the boys and the girls, and Lydia won!! it was so funny and fun! She won a trophy, a certificate, huge box of wipes, and a bag full of baby toys. Plus she was in the newspaper. So... of course you can imagine Jon, the VERY proud father, was sure to tell EVERYONE about it for weeks. Pretty sure he still brings it up when he can 😂

Lydia being cute continued...

I started this post when she was 6moths old, and she's now 8 months. so you can see how well i'm doing at this. the biggest reason i'm so bad at this is because it's such a pain to get the pictures on. If i try to upload them straight from my phone i can only select one at a time and that takes foreverrrrrr. So i have to hook up my phone to my computer and for some reason it doesnt always show all the pics for me to select, and then sometimes they disappear... it's so weird... but oh well. Whatever. Im doing it now so that's all that matters./
SO ANYWAY. Here's where we're at in life. It's been a couple months so obviously we've moved... hahahhaWe are still working with Seth at the Ranch, we just moved in with an elderly man to help take care of him. He only lives about 20 min from the ranch so no big deal. It's been lots of fun. He lives on a beautiful farm and Lydia loves him so we spend lots of time together.
It's fun when dad comes out to work by the house (we have cows grazing out here)

She lovessss being on horses, she cries every time Jon gives her back to me.
She loves standing. She hasnt started crawling yet and I don't know if she ever will. she can roll all over but she doesnt ever try to crawl. Her favorite thing is to walk around while holding your hands, or standing while holding onto a chair or something. She LOVES it and gets all sorts of excited while doing it, if you sit her down on her bum while walking she starts to cry and wants to keep going. We may have a walker before we have a crawler haha.
glamour shots
Oh yeah, and in other news I chopped off my hair. So i was bored with my hair and thought itd be fun to box dye it. well it turned orange haha so anyway, the next week i hacked it off and changed up the color.
I'm officially a mom.
And just some more cute pics.
You'd think i'd have a whole bunch of quotes since it's been months, but i've only got 3.
Quotes from Jon:
"You'd be so much grosser if you were ugly"
"So... are you going to give me a manicure today?"
(feeding lydia) "If it makes you feel any better, i get just as messy as she does while eating."
😂😂😂
Welp, Bye!
