The son, Dr. A bought the whole business from his dad and now runs everything because Dr. B is semi- retired and only works part time. So at the office it's usually just me, the other receptionist (who is a totally awesome lady) and Dr. A. So its just us 3 and I think we make a really good team. The other receptionist handles most of the 'chiropractic assistant' type stuff, like hooking patients up to the muscle stimulation therapy, or doing ultrasounds, xrays, etc. I mostly take care of the front desk, along with all the insurance and billing stuff. But we both do all of it, thats just kind of our main things. Right now I'm still learning the insurance/billing stuff but I pretty much have most of it down, it came pretty easy after already working at a medical office, so that has been a blessing. Dr. A has been doing a lot of the insurance billing stuff himself, so I'm hoping I can kind of take that over for him so he can spend more time with his family. He has an awesome wife and the cutest kids. I really love working for such great people! Plus...,. It has it's perks! What perks you may ask? Well that leads in to my next story- or I should say blessing!
So I had mentally prepared myself for winter in our trailer... But I wasn't thrilled about it... It gets colddddd here. But anyway, one day I was looking at the classifieds page and I saw an ad that caught my eye! A lady was looking for a house sitter for JUST WINTER. I was like whaaaa. So I got in contact with her and the second I told her where I worked she was thrilled. Apparently she has been a patient there for like 30 years and is good friends with my bosses. SO YEAH. To spare you more of a novel, long story short, we will be living for free for 6 months in someone elses house. Can you say blessings?!?!
Anyway. On to other things. August has been a good month here in our new little town. The county fair was at the beginning of the month so we went and enjoyed that. Jon loved taking pictures

We also watched the rodeo because Jon's boss did bronc riding. We brought Pancho with and he was so well behaved! He literally sat on the bleachers the entire time and watched the rodeo (except for when all the little kids would come over to pet him)

Another fun thing this month was Misty's baby shower! Of course I forgot to take pictures, but it was fun to get together with all the girls. I can't wait to meet her cute little boy next month! Cross your fingers he's not a red head 😂😂😜 (love you misty)
Speaking of Jons sisters, a few Sundays ago we walked in and I looked on the stand and saw a girl who looked exactly like Shalae! I nudged Jon and all of sacrament we were cracking up the shalaes twin was in our ward. After sacrament meeting I went up to her, and being the shameless weirdo that I am, asked if I could take a pic with her to send to shalae. (Closer up she didnt look as much like her, but still pretty similar!!)
So I was thinking I should probably do a little update on how I'm doing with my whole.. No social media for a year thing. Because I'm sure you're all DYING to know. So ill just tell you, to help me stay accountable, or whatever. ;) Well, I havent been perfect, haha surprise surprise. But I have been pretty dang good!I've only gotten on Instagram a small handful of times, reasons: to stalk my new boss's wife, to message a friend from Chicago who's phone # I didnt have, and to check something on one of my cousins pages. So I'd say thats pretty dang good!As for facebook, I'm a lot better than before but when we moved I used classifieds a lot, and found myself scrolling through classifieds again. I am re-committing to stop doing that. And ive only looked up a few people, mainly for the purpose of seeing if Jon knew them. So pretty good with facebook.YouTube ive done great with. Maybe only watched like 2 videos that werent lds content. And Pinterest, I fell back into the scrolling habit but here I am, recommitting! So over all I'd say I'm doing really well! But I could definitely improve. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go beck to my April post "a year without social media"
Okay so one last thing, I have to share this awesome missionary experience that I had last week!
SO as many of you know there was the eclipse in august so there were lotssss of out of towners roaming around idaho. One day I was at the laundromat and a couple from Germany came in.
I started talking with them, showing them how the laundromat worked, asking about where they were from, etc, just lots of small talk. They started their load of laundry (which is only 26min) and then left and went for a walk. I went back in my car and read while I was waiting for my loads to be done.
I thought this would be a great opportunity to share the gospel but I couldnt figure out how. My mind was like totally blank. So I texted Jon and my family saying, "quick, at the laundromat with a couple from Germany, how do I bring up the gospel??" They weren't much help lol. So i prayed that I would be inspired to know what to say and still my mind was blank! About 10 min had gone by and I was starting to panic, why couldn't I think of literally anything?? I was even googling ideas haha finally I just started thinking, okay maybe I just won't say anything. So I started reading my book again and there was a part that talked about a couple from Germany meeting missionaries! Seriously?!?! So I was like freak, okay I guess I have to say something!! So I start frantically praying again and searching my car for a book of Mormon (even though I knew I didnt have one.. And I may or may not have even thrown in a "dear Heavenly Father, please make a book of Mormon magically appear in my car" prayer. (Which unfortunately didnt happen, but its worth a shot right? Lol) anyway my time was running out and they came back to the laundromat, so I decided I'd just wing it since I wasn't getting any divine revelation! Lol as I was getting out of my car, all the sudden I remembered that last Sunday we had a lady from Germany who wasnt LDS visiting a family memeber in our ward, she came to relief society and was asking questions about the book of Mormon. Anyway I went back in and started again with the small talk then said, "I actually met someone from Germany just the other day, she was visiting our church. Have you ever heard of the Mormon church?"
Then magic.
The woman had heard of mormons, and had actually met English missionaries years ago. From that point it was just all spewing out of me lol we talked about the lds community in Utah and idaho, we talked about the book of Mormon, Joseph smith, temples, family history, the difference between lds and does and so much more it was awesome!! I felt so great after they left. The church is true!
Anyway thats all.
Here are some more random photos from august for your enjoyment.
