July- big changes!

Oh July. What an eventful month it has been!! Where do I even start. Well, let's start with the 4th of July. In the little town we live in they put on a fun 4th of July celebration! There is a parade in the morning (which lasts about 10 minutes, and they come right in front of our house, so naturally Jon brought out the couch so we could have excellent seating)

Small towns are great. after the parade there were games at the park, we played volleyball, softball, there was a PIG CHASE. They greased up a 100lb pig and had all the men chase it, whoever caught it, got to keep it! haha! Then they had chicken chases for the kids, same rules, (no grease) they let chickens loose and kids chased them, whoever caught it, got to keep the chicken. it was hilarious.

Anyway! Animal update-
We still have Jack, Jessie, Maren, and her colt... Colten.. (for now)

And we still have all the mini cows, their calves are getting so big!

And we still have the dogs! I don't remember if i wrote about this in the last post, but we are keeping one of the puppies because Tuff is getting old. This is Poncho

The pup in the back, her name is Chirp. She is going to our neighbor.. and his 4 year old named her. I think Chirp is a cute name though haha

I know by now you're probably like LAUREN, TELL ME WHAT THE BIG CHANGES ARE! Well, if you know anything about me and Jon, you could probably guess what it is. Surprise! We're moving!

hahaha ohh.. man i crack myself up. I know, we are crazy. Let me say something here though. I'm sure you're probably thinking, "what is with these people? why do they always move? What's wrong with them? I'm worried about their stability!" Let me tell you something about stability.
When you hear stability (in regards to relationships, marriages, etc) you probably think, holding down a job and staying in the same house for many years. Do i have that? Absolutely not. Within the 5 years Jon and I have been married, we have had over 10 different jobs combined and we have lived in 4 different places (moving on the 5)

But to me, stability is this- having someone I can always count on, making sure the bills will always be paid and i have food on my table. Not having debt. Feeling safe, loved, and taken care of, ALWAYS. do I have that? Yes, Always.
I might view stability different than other people, but i am happy, so I hope you're not secretly judging us too hard ;)

SO, without further adieu- this is current life update.

Back in March we went to go talk to our friend who lives in a neighboring town, she owns 40 acres of land and a huge house, with 7 kids. She does not have any livestock, so her land is pretty much being wasted. Last year we rented her pasture from her for a couple cows, just for a couple weeks. Since we got the mini cows, we decided to go talk to her about renting the pasture again for the whole summer. So, March. We went and chatted with her and SOMEHOW (like honestly, I dont even remember the conversation) it ended up with us agreeing to move in with her (she had an unfinished basement she was going to turn into an apartment for us) we were going to sign a year contract and keep our cows up there and live there. It was a beautiful place up in the hills and we were so excited! We were going to keep our house and rent it, but after running some numbers we decided it would be better to just sell. So we put our house up for sale at the beginning of april i think (only living there for 4 months) and planned on moving out the 1st of June (that is when she said she would have the basement finished by). So anyway, as time went on we werent really having very many views on the house. We had about 4 in the first 2 weeks then nothing. We brought the cows up to her place right away, and would go check on them occasionally and also check the process of the basement. It didn't seem like she was getting much done very fast, but she was motivated so we just let her do her thing. She took a couple trips in between there and we were concerned we werent really a top priority, but she was giving us a killer deal so we were patient, plus our house still hadnt sold so it wasnt a huge deal.
Fast forward to the end of June, we finally get another showing and they put an offer in the house, due to close July 26th. STOKED, we go to our friends house to check the progress (because she definitely wasn't done by June 1st) and there still wasnt much progress, when we talked with her things seemed really weird all the sudden. She kept making comments about wanting to charge us more than we originally agreed, and other stuff that made us a bit hesitant. Jon had previously talked with his boss about eventually moving cows up to his place (where jon works) so we kind of told her a little bit of that and he kept acting really weird. We couldn't tell if she didn't want us to move in, or if she thought we were trying to back out of things, which we werent. We left really confused. On the car ride home we talked about how things just didnt feel right, and we didn't feel good about moving in with her anymore but we felt so bad because we had committed to her and she had been spending all this time and money on her basement... So we decided that we would go talk to her the next day and approach things in the way of- "Ok so we made a commitment to you and we're in 100%, but if you don't feel good about it, or have other plans, that is okay too (becauuse after we left her house the first time we called jons boss and he said he had land up there we could live on if things didnt work out with the house) so we told her, we have a backup plan if she didnt want us to move in and she bluntly said, If i were you guys I would do that. SO we felt pretty relieved that we were off the hook.

SO what happened next? On July 6th Jon drove to Utah and bought a 34ft 5th wheel camp trailer, and we are going to park it on Jon's boss's land and live in it full on country style! ha!! now before you freak out, I have to tell you, this trailer is nicer than our current house, so don't fret. It's just a bit smaller :) but honestly, not by much! haha

I'd take pictures of everything but there are boxes everywhere. So once it's all put away and nice looking i'll post pictures.

(I kinda write this blog as the month goes on so I don't forget about anything..) So today is the 29th.
Before we even moved I went job hunting because I didn't want to have to commute an hour every day to my old job at the doctors office (which I miss all my awesome friends there!!!) But anyway, I had no issue finding a job closer to home, (working at a chiropractor's office) and my commute is only 18 minutes now! I love it!! I have already worked there 2 days an am really enjoying it. I am doing pretty much the same thing as my old job plus a little more. I like it.

Jon is still the irrigation manager at his job that he's been at a while. He really enjoys the work. Lots of tractors, 4wheelers, all the good farm stuff. I'm glad he enjoys his job

And here's a pic of us on our first sunday in the new ward! (my new fancy phone automatically edits selfies.. so you know i'm going to use that!)

Well, not a whole lot else has gone on this month!
Stay tuned for August's post to see pictures of the new place and its beautiful location!!

Quotes from jon: (I got a new phone and may have lost a couple quotes i'd been hanging on to, but i still had this one.. lol)

"Can you even use baking soda for baking? I thought it was just to make your fridge not stinky.."
